The Role
We’re looking for a Health and Safety Specialist to join our Albany Zone Operations division on a full-time, permanent basis.
In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for fostering a strong safety culture—providing expert advice, hands-on support and proactive coaching to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.
Enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid schedule, combining office-based responsibilities with fieldwork, particularly during the busy harvest season—giving you the chance to make a real impact.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide timely, accurate advice to the Operations Team to ensure compliance with CBH and legislative requirements
- Coordinate and support the implementation of proactive safety initiatives, including hazard identification, risk assessments and injury prevention strategies
- Lead and contribute to workplace incident investigations using the ICAM methodology, supporting Line Management in the process
- Develop, deliver and evaluate training programs on key safety topics to build capability and awareness
- Compile, analyse and report on injury and illness data in line with CBH reporting standards
- Contribute to workplace health and safety consultation processes, fostering a culture of engagement and worker participation
About You:
- Minimum Certificate IV or higher Post Graduate qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or similar
- At least 2 years’ experience in a health and safety role
- Demonstrated experience in safety leadership, coaching and mentoring
- Knowledge and experience in the application of safety and health legislation
- High level of communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate
