We are seeking a motivated and safety conscious individual to join our team as a Grain Protection Officer on a full-time basis.


This frontline role plays a major part implementation and ongoing monitoring of grain protection and fumigation processes across the area. Previous experience and license in fumigation and pesticides is not essential as CBH will provide full training and support is to ensure you gain the experience and licensed required to be successful in the role.


While the main office is based in Koorda, located approximately 230 km from Perth, receival sites are also based in Goodlands, Kalanie, Kirwan, Cadoux, Manmanning, Ejanding, Wyalkatchem and Dowerin and you need to be willing to work at any of these sites if required.


As a Grain Protection Officers, you will be responsible for:

  • Carry out grain fumigation procedures and assist in ensuring the fumigation structure and fumigation performance meets standards.

  • Assist to maintain the life of phosphine, recognise and respond to possible contaminations from insects, rodents, birds and other external threats to reduce or remove the risk in the area.

  • Report pesticide stock and fumigation activities which includes weed control programs, wash down programs, the implementation of rodent and feral bird control programs, hygiene checks and associated activities

  • Assist Grain Technology to verify activities to ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, standards and codes of practices.

  • Complete Receival Points Operator duties, which will include receiving, storing and out loading grain, in addition to operating and maintaining storage facilities in an efficient and hygienic manner.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and build positive working relationships
  • Willingness to learn to become fully licensed in all aspects of Grain Protection
  • Willingness to become an expert in Fumigation including Dangerous Goods Management and Pesticide safety activities
  • A high degree attention to detail
  • Possess a valid drivers licence
  • A strong dedication towards prioritising safety  
  • Basic computer skills
