The role 

As Lead – Data Engineering, you will play an important role in the design, delivery and support of quality data solutions that meet the expectations of our customers.  Working with an experienced Team, your technical expertise will help shape and contribute to our data and analytics strategy and roadmap.  The role will utilise the latest technologies in a dynamic environment where you will be recognised and valued for your expertise and knowledge.  This is an exciting time to join the Team as we grow and leverage our Azure data platform to support the CBH business. 


Key responsibilities 

  • Design, develop, test, deploy and support data ingestion processes, transformations, data models and visualisations 

  • Work collaboratively with internal customers and business units, ensuring effective communication, coordination of effort and alignment of solutions to exceed expectations 

  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in our data and analytics platforms, processes and supported solutions 

  • Develop automated testing and deployment pipelines following best practice  

  • Share your knowledge and technical expertise through mentoring and upskilling 

  • Participate in the delivery of our data strategy and implementation roadmap  

  • Have a strong customer focus with a commitment to quality outcomes 


Skills and experience 

  • Strong demonstrable background in delivering data warehouse / business intelligence solutions in an agile environment 

  • Experience across a range of data engineering / analytics skillsets and tools, including SQL, T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, Power BI, DAX, Visual Studio, PowerShell 

  • Tertiary qualification in software/computer engineering or IT related field and 5+ years of relevant work experience 

  • Experience in some of the following Azure technologies is highly desirable: 

  • Azure Data Lake  

  • Azure Data Factory (ADF) 

  • Azure SQL DW  

  • Azure DevOps  

  • Azure Databricks  

  • Knowledge of current data analytics trends, techniques and technologies 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with experience in collaborative delivery and problem solving
