The role 

Reporting to the Manager - Laboratory, this role is responsible for conducting reference testing on grain commodities and other agricultural testing services, while complying with ISO and NATA requirements.   


Key duties include: 

  • Facilitating and participating in day-to-day analysis to produce reliable results and meet agreed targets. 

  • Providing accurate testing services to shareholders and clients, while honouring timeframes and maintaining integrity. 

  • Undertaking routine analysis on grain samples by utilising standardised reference techniques, including physical analysis, Mass Spectrometry, and qPCR analysis. 

  • Adhering to appropriate quality measures and standards set by ISO 17025 and company requirements relevant to duties. 

  • Working with calibration specialists and Specialist – Quality Systems to maintain relevant monitoring programs and ensure all current ISO and NATA updates are observed. 


The successful candidate will have: 

  • A bachelor’s degree of science in pharmaceuticals, chemistry, life science, or similar. 

  • Advanced skills in the use of the Microsoft Office suite, including excel.  

  • Excellent interpersonal skills when interacting with both non-technical and technical colleagues. 

  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with others with diverse skill sets and backgrounds. 

  • Ability to set priorities and manage simultaneous tasks. 

  • Ability to work autonomously, whilst following SOPs. 

  • Ability to be effective in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
