About the role

As we continue embedding the ‘Path to 2033’ Strategy within CBH, the business manages a series of priority projects designed to successfully achieve our strategic objectives. Supporting the strategy, each Division develops an annual Business Unit Plan which sets out its value proposition, the core services they deliver, the initiatives that will help move the business towards meeting our 2033 targets, and how we will measure our success.

 

We are delighted to offer the opportunity to work at the heart of our refreshed CBH Strategy 'Path to 2033', providing insights into and support for priority projects, business unit planning, and developing new competitive strategies. This role involves conducting strategic evaluations, facilitating business unit strategy development, developing project business cases including conducting financial analysis and assessment, and assessing the competitive landscape and global commodity environment to underpin group strategy.

 

Collaborating with stakeholders within CBH you will be responsible for:

  • Collaborate closely with all members of the Strategy team, both internally and externally, including the Executive Committee.

  • Assist in presenting and consulting with senior management and the Board concerning substantial decisions.

  • Gather and develop data and performance metrics to support commercial recommendations for the CEO, CFO, GMs, and the Board.

  • Compile benchmark analyses, summarize competitor performance, and provide strategic insights that bolster Corporate and business unit strategy and planning.

  • Contribute to group strategic planning and the implementation of Business Plans.

  • Aid in the development of processes, tools, templates, and expertise within the team.

  • Oversee smaller-scale projects and support the management of larger-scale projects.

  • Explore and evaluate new business and growth opportunities that create value alongside the existing portfolio.

  • Support the long-term planning of capital expenditure.

  • Coordinate financial and commercial due diligence and assessments.

  • Communicate recommendations or findings via business cases and presentations.

  • Manage project costs, activities, and deliverables within agreed budgetary parameters.

 

What you will bring to the role:

We welcome individuals with direct experience in supporting strategic projects and encourage applications from those with firsthand involvement in project delivery and planning. We seek candidates who possess the following competencies:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in Business, Commerce, Engineering, or related fields.

  • A minimum of five years' experience in investment banking, professional services, management consulting, or corporate strategy and planning.

  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to the development of long-term strategic plans.

  • Strong oral communication skills and confidence in delivering presentations.

  • Proficiency in developing networks, fostering positive engagement, and collaborating to resolve issues with colleagues.

  • Application of problem-solving tools and techniques, even when dealing with subjective information.

  • Proficiency in negotiation and influence, both internally and externally, at the highest levels.

  • A deep understanding of mergers and acquisitions, capital expenditure, and productivity programs to support planning and assessments related to value creation opportunities.

  • An ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate values of Collaboration, Respect, Reliability, Sustainability, Inclusion, Diversity and Equity.

  • Experience in managing projects and delivering outcomes within deadlines.
