The Role
We’re looking for a Calibrations Specialist to join our team and take the lead in maintaining the accuracy and compliance of our Near Infrared (NIR) and other associated grain quality measuring instrumentation across the network.
In this full-time role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that all instrumentation meet operational standards, while supporting and enhancing our applied technology platforms to improve performance and efficiency. Responsibilities include overseeing the production of reference materials and ensuring instrument compliance with ISO standards and National Measurement Institute requirements.
Responsibilities include:

Develop systems to support annual maintenance, servicing, and compliance of NIR and weighing equipment.

Enable the creation of reference materials in line with regulatory standards.

Monitor the performance of grain quality instrumentation to ensure compliance with NATA and Trade measurement regulations.

Extract and analyse data using various tools to support performance evaluation and reporting.
About You:
-
Tertiary qualifications in Data Science, Analytical Chemistry Physical Science, Computing, or similar.

A minimum of 3 years experience in similar/related industry.

Demonstrated competency in understanding complexity of interfaces with multiple database-sources and the ability to perform data validation

Understanding of data governance, privacy implications and data warehousing (highly desired)

Experience programming with C#, SQL, or equivalent (highly desired)
Desired knowledge of the following:

Grain quality and laboratory techniques.

Laboratory quality systems (e.g. NATA).

Current national trade measurement regulations and acts.

Data science including analysis and reduction techniques, numerical algorithms, control systems, big data and deep learning concepts.

Demonstrated experience with statistics, chemometrics, programming and data modelling packages such as Matlab and Unscrambler

Possession of relevant National Measurement Institute licences.
