The Role
We’re looking for a Laboratory Specialist to join our Applied Technology team on a full time permanent basis, located at the Australian Grain Centre in Forrestfield.
Reporting to the Manager – Laboratory, you will be responsible for conducting reference testing on grain commodities and other agricultural testing services while complying with ISO and NATA requirements.
Responsibilities include:

Facilitating and participating in day-to-day analysis to produce reliable results and meet agreed targets.

Providing accurate testing services to shareholders and clients, honouring timeframes, and communicating unforeseen changes in deadlines whilst maintaining integrity.

Undertaking routine and non-routine analysis on grain samples utilising standardised reference techniques, including physical analysis and Mass Spectrometry.

Adhering to appropriate quality measures and standards set by ISO 17025 and company requirements relevant to duties.

Ensuring all instruments are adequately maintained, serviced, calibrated, and validated to minimise downtime, and establish limits of tolerance and maintain acceptable levels of uncertainty.

When required lead development or assist with method development, analysis, reporting and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation including LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS.
About you:

Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceuticals, Chemistry or similar

MS Office skills, including advanced skills in Excel
-
Efficient problem solving and scientific data interpretation skills
-
Ability to set priorities, manage simultaneous tasks, and troubleshoot technical problems
