The role

The Specialist – Sales & Marketing position will be responsible for supporting Marketing and Trading activities to grow and streamline Blue Lake Milling (BLM) export program by developing of long-term relationships with strategic customers and improving product mix. This position requires managing complex relationships with existing and potential customers. The person will also assist in marketing and budget planning, collaborate with internal stakeholders, regularly visit sites and coordinate customer audit visits.


This role is very diverse, one day you could be meeting with an international customer delegation and the next you could be visiting an operational site looking at ways to create efficiencies in the manufacturing process.


This position is situated in CBH’s Head Office in Perth.



  • Through analysis of consumer trends and preferences, identify customers and opportunities that help drive efficiency in production/manufacturing.

  • Develop marketing programs and initiatives to support the promotion and build the brand of CBH and Blue Lake Milling “BLM” products, research and analyse new opportunities for growth and development in the industrial oat export market

  • Maintain high levels of collaboration with key stakeholders within BLM manufacturing facilities to ensure understanding of markets, pricing and distribution.

  • Regular visit to manufacturing facilities to understand latest production constraints and product mixes.

  • Help maintain sales database and contract management to facilitate analysis of customer activity and tailor marketing programs.

  • Identify and implement continuous improvements to ensure goods & services are delivered in timely manner and in accordance with business KPIs.

  • Contribute to strategy and provide market intelligence and research regarding new opportunities for growth and development

  • Assist with costings and quotations for export business.


Skills and experience

  • Tertiary degree in business or associated qualification.

  • Demonstrated extensive experience in marketing agricultural products, negotiating and  problem solving.

  •  Significant international sales (experience in East Asia is a must), marketing and oat processing experience,

  • Knowledge of processing plants and container logistics. 

  • Understanding of the Australian and global grain supply chain. 

  • Fluent in written/spoken English and Mandarin is a must

  • Self-motivated and with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Working knowledge/experience with Microsoft Office 365, CRM systems, Commodity Trading and Risk Management (CTRM) systems and customer communication or marketing systems.
