The Role
Play a crucial role in maintaining the equipment that drives WA’s grain network!
We’re looking for a skilled and safety-driven Mechanical Tradesperson to join our Maintenance team at the Metro Grain Centre in Forrestfield. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for delivering both preventative and corrective maintenance on our bulk handling equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 2:00pm. Weekend or Shift work required from time to time.
Responsibilities include:
- Preventative and corrective maintenance and repairs to bulk handling equipment including elevators, conveyors, dust systems, fixed and portable machinery
- Complete basic administrative tasks that are aligned with the maintenance function using SAP
- Proficient in using tools like lathes, mills, and welders to modify or create parts when needed
- Adhering to company safety procedures, risk assessments, and incident reporting requirements
About you:
- Trade Certificate in Mechanical fitter/machinist
- Hold an unrestricted Driver's Licence with a reliable source of transport
- Current tickets in confined spaces, working at heights, forklift and EWP
Desired:
- Cert IV in engineering (fluid power) or experience with Hydraulics (highly regarded)
- Experience using SAP or similar software
- HR Drivers Licence
