Grain Protection Officer

The Grain Protection Officer based in Esperance, will provide grain protection throughout the CBH supply chain and will be responsible for the fumigation of grain, reporting of pesticide stock and fumigation activities, weed control programs, implementation of rodent and feral bird control programs and hygiene checks.

 

The Grain Protection Officer will also be required to perform Receival Points Operator duties when appropriate, which will include receiving, storing and out loading grain, in addition to operating and maintaining storage facilities in an efficient and hygienic manner.

 

Skills and Experience

It is essential for applicants to possess the following:

  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Be self motivated and able to work autonomously
  • Valid Fumigator's and Pesticide License, or considered eligible to undertake training to obtain (CBH provided)
  • Valid C class drivers licence
  • Bend, stretch, lift, climb and be deemed physically fit in accordance with the CBH operational worker pre-employment medical
  • Work at heights, confined spaces and in areas with high grain dust concentrations
  • Demonstrated experience in time management, planning or providing customer service 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite

 

The following criteria is highly desirable:

  • Prior experience in fumigation and pesticide application
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Regulations
  • Knowledge of Pest Control Regulations and Codes of Practice
  • Elevated Work Platform and Senior First Aid Certificates
  • Possession of a valid MR or HR driver’s licence
