Our storage and handling system currently receives and exports around 90 per cent of the Western Australian grain harvest and is regarded as one of the best in the world. We in-load via our own in-house design screw conveyor pits, bucket elevators, ground conveyors, trippers, and stackers into multiple storage types. We strive to continually improve our equipment from site feedback, and we have a strong pipeline of work that focuses on out-loading with multiple new rail loading facilities and expansions of our existing receival sites.

The Role

We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join our Geraldton Port Terminal team, within our Operations Division on a full-time, permanent basis as a Specialist – Logistic Scheduling.  

 

This position provides daily schedule and necessary changes or deviations to the weekly scheduler to ensure efficient operations of the supply chain. The objective is to meet the schedule and reduce deviations within the weekly schedule. 

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Produce and optimise the weekly and daily schedule Rail and Road schedules aligned to the 6-week rolling plan handed down from the Logistics Planners

  • Execute and manage disruption to the weekly Rail and Road schedules and make changes as required 

  • Schedule and maintain stock flow from receival site into port storage and on to ship regularly updating and communicating stock in Port Dates 

  • Prioritise vessel loading at port to maintain Overall Equipment Effectiveness 

  • Monitor port stock, quality and availability levels 

  • Coordinate equipment movements FEL / MLS for the zone

  • Coordinate and chair daily supply chain performance management phone hook ups and provide feedback/actions to stakeholders 

  • Communicate schedule changes and timing on a daily basis with road, rail providers and zone management 

 

About You:

  • Demonstrated prior experience in logistics and supply chain management (planning & scheduling)

  • Prior experience managing people is desirable

  • Ability to understand, model and explain complex supply chain issues 

  • Capacity in using planning and analytics systems 

  • Relevant qualification is desirable
