The Role

CBH Group is seeking a Head of Sustainability & Strategy to lead our enterprise sustainability and strategic agenda.

 

Reporting to the Chief Stakeholder Relations, Sustainability & Strategy Officer, this role provides trusted strategic advice to the Board and Executive, embeds sustainability into enterprise decision‑making, and ensures strong governance, insight and reporting across the Group.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Lead CBH’s enterprise strategy, including long‑term growth options, capital allocation and value creation priorities.
  • Own and govern the enterprise Strategic Focus Area portfolio, including prioritisation, benefits tracking and Board and ExCo reporting.
  • Develop and oversee CBH’s Sustainability Plan, setting clear enterprise priorities, frameworks and performance expectations.
  • Provide enterprise‑level insight on industry trends, competitive dynamics and emerging opportunities.
  • Build and lead a high‑performing Strategy and Sustainability team whilst monitoring and assuring sustainability performance, escalating material risks, issues and opportunities.
  • Lead the annual enterprise strategic planning cycle across Board, ExCo and business units.
  • Ensure strong regulatory readiness and high‑quality sustainability and ESG disclosure.
  • Manage the Sustainability and Strategy budget and provide commercial and financial insight on major initiatives.

 

About You

  • Postgraduate qualification in Business, Commerce or a related discipline.
  • Senior leadership experience in sustainability, ESG and/or enterprise strategy.
  • Strong capability in strategic planning, financial modelling, business cases and risk assessment.
  • Proven ability to influence at Board and Executive level and operate across complex stakeholder environments.
  • Highly developed critical thinking, systems thinking and commercial acumen.
  • Experience in agriculture, commodities or supply chains is desirable.
