The Role 

Are you detail-oriented and passionate about ensuring accuracy in financial transactions?  

 

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Accounts Payable Officer to join our team. 

 

In this role, you will be responsible for managing high volumes of invoices across all CBH entities, ensuring timely and precise payments to our suppliers. You will play a key role in processing and matching purchase order invoices, and supporting treasury transactions with a focus on delivering accurate financial data.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships, handling internal and external account queries 

  • Ensure complete documentation for processing invoices and payments per contract terms 

  • Execute treasury deal confirmations, resolve exceptions, and ensure timely payments and Counterparty invoice settlements 

  • Process high volumes of invoices daily, matching purchase orders to invoices for goods/services, ensuring timely payments  

  • Conduct monthly Vendor reconciliations, validating data and addressing discrepancies 

  • Liaise with the procurement and vendor onboarding team to assist in maintaining an accurate and up-to-date vendor register 

  • Perform month end tasks to ensure an on time close of the ledger as well as assist in month end KPI reporting 

 

About You: 

  • Exceptional attention to detail 

  • Previous demonstrated accounts payable experience 

  • Proficient in using various accounts payable systems (including SAP and OpenText) and managing interfaces between financial systems 

  • Strong knowledge of the Commonwealth Financial Framework, particularly cash management, vendor management, and best payment practices 

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, with a focus on Microsoft Excel. 

  • Excellent analytical and investigative abilities, with the capability to track invoices and payments for vendor account reconciliation 

  • Ability to thrive under pressure, make decisions, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously 

  • Self-driven, able to prioritise tasks, and provide technical support and guidance to internal and external stakeholders 

 

Highly desirable: 

  • Bachelor’s degree/TAFE certificate in Business/Commerce with a focus on accounting and finance or similar qualifications. 

  • Accounts payable experience within the grain industry or commodity trading sector.
