The Role
We are thrilled to offer a permanent full-time opportunity for an experienced lawyer to join our esteemed team. Reporting to the Head of Legal, this role provides a chance to work alongside industry leaders and contribute significantly to the legal landscape of the grains industry.
Responsibilities include:
As a key member of our in-house legal team, you will:

Manage corporate, commercial, and industry-specific contractual matters

Navigate regulatory compliance Oversee legal claims involving or against the CBH Group

Address a broad range of legal matters, including construction, employment, international trade, shipping, finance, construction, procurement, property and general commercial

Collaborate with a small team of lawyers and engage with the broader CBH divisions and executive team
Key Accountabilities:
- Ensure clarity and enforceability of CBH Group's contractual arrangements

Provide pragmatic and commercial legal advice on operational issues

Ensure compliance with legislative requirements, including the Cooperatives Act, Bulk Handling Act, Fair Work Act, and more

Draft and update precedent agreements for business use

Participate in project teams to achieve defined project outcomes

Offer advice and representation on regulatory matters impacting the CBH Group
About You:
- 4 – 6 years’ experience with a reputable law firm or similar in-house position

Bachelor of Laws Degree

Admission to practice in WA (or primary state of residence)

Exceptional communication and writing skills, particularly in respect of being able to explain complex issues in a simple manner

A collaborative spirit, comfortable working independently and as part of a team

Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to forge relationships at all levels, internally and externally
