The Role
At CBH, we're looking for a collaborative and strategically minded engineering leader to guide a multidisciplinary team responsible for shaping and delivering engineering excellence across our capital program.
Providing leadership, governance and direction across Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and Control Systems Engineering disciplines. Working closely with operational and project stakeholders, you'll help ensure our projects are safe, sustainable, efficient and designed to support long-term asset performance.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide strategic leadership and governance for CBH’s Engineering function, setting the direction, standards and priorities that support CBH’s capital program and long-term asset performance.
- Lead and support a multidisciplinary engineering team across Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Control Systems, fostering an inclusive, high-performing culture built on collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Partner with senior leaders across Operations, Planning and Project Delivery to shape infrastructure investment decisions and ensure engineering solutions align with CBH’s future network strategy and operational needs.
- Champion Safety in Design and engineering risk management, ensuring safety, performance, cost and long-term asset reliability are considered in engineering and project decisions.
- Drive innovation, standardisation and value creation across CBH’s capital portfolio, identifying opportunities to improve capital efficiency, optimise investment outcomes and deliver sustainable benefits for CBH and growers.
About You:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, with Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering discipline preferred.
- Proven experience leading and developing high-performing, multidisciplinary teams, creating a safe, inclusive and accountable environment.
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to Executive and Board-level stakeholders while building trusted relationships with peers, contractors, consultants and delivery partners.
- Previous experience serving as a technical authority, establishing and governing engineering standards, specifications and assurance processes, including developing scopes of work, tender documentation and performance monitoring.
- Strong capability to identify, assess and manage engineering and project risks, ensuring risks and opportunities are clearly understood, communicated and effectively controlled across the project lifecycle.
- A continuous improvement mindset, with experience driving standardisation, capital efficiency and improved delivery outcomes across engineering and project delivery practices.
