The Role
Are you a seasoned leader passionate about creating a safer, more sustainable future?
Reporting directly to our Chief Operations Officer and as a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, this pivotal role is at the forefront of driving our commitment to health, safety, and environmental excellence.
You’ll drive the development and implementation of innovative HSE strategies to enhance performance, ensure compliance, and shape a positive safety culture across the organisation.
Additionally, you’ll lead and mentor a dedicated team of HSE professionals, fostering growth and continuous improvement.
This role is based in our Perth CBD office, with regular travel to our sites.
Responsibilities include:

Lead and develop comprehensive strategies to enhance the safety culture & environmental sustainability across CBH

Provide expert technical advice and support to HSE professionals, internal departments and leadership team, driving continuous improvement in safety performance and environmental management

Utilise change management methodologies to proactively shape and foster a safety culture that minimises injuries and promotes wellness among employees, contractors, and visitors

Advise on health, safety, and environmental risks associated with operational changes, ensuring compliance with regulations and effective risk mitigation strategies

Develop and implement strategies to manage and optimise health, safety, and environment costs, while reducing injury management and workers' compensation expenses

Represent CBH with regulatory and industry body groups as it relates to health, safety and environmental matters, ensuring positive and proactive relations are managed
About You:

A degree in health & safety, environmental science or related field, along with proven experience in senior HSE leadership roles, managing large teams

Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor senior leaders and team members in behavioural based safety initiatives and incident investigations

Experience in ICAM methodology and expertise in facilitating investigations

Comprehensive knowledge of health, safety and environment legislation

Practical experience working with ISO14001

Skilled in creating high quality written documents, including status reports, incident reports, business cases and presenting to diverse audiences, including executive and board members
