The Role
The Head of Market Insights and Sustainability is a senior leadership role focused on delivering deep market insight to inform Marketing and Trading strategy. The role leads analysis of global grain markets, competitive dynamics and economic trends within a trading‑focused environment, translating complex data into clear strategic and commercial direction. With responsibility for leading a diverse specialist team, the role requires strong leadership capability and the ability to communicate insight across different stakeholder groups. Sustainability is a key component of the role, with accountability for delivering Marketing and Trading’s sustainability plan in alignment with Group ESG objectives and regulatory frameworks.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead market insights across global grain, trading and competitive landscapes to inform Marketing & Trading strategy.
- Analyse economic, market and customer data to identify emerging risks, opportunities and strategic responses.
- Provide strategic input into group‑level commercial opportunities from a Marketing & Trading perspective.
- Lead and develop a diverse specialist team across market analytics, compliance and sustainability, translating insight for varied audiences.
- Partner closely with Marketing & Trading leaders to support informed, timely decision‑making in a complex trading environment.
- Deliver Marketing & Trading’s sustainability plan in alignment with Group ESG objectives, regulatory frameworks and grower and customer needs.
About You:
- Proven leadership capability, with experience guiding specialist teams and influencing senior stakeholders through complex, data‑driven insights.
- Demonstrated experience delivering market insight, strategy or economic analysis within trading, commercial, consulting, research or professional services environments.
- Strong ability to translate market, economic and competitive analysis into clear, practical recommendations that support commercial decision‑making.
- Experience working across global or complex markets, with comfort navigating uncertainty, ambiguity and emerging trends.
- A collaborative, adaptable style, with the ability to communicate insight across diverse audiences and levels of technical understanding.
- Exposure to sustainability, regulatory or ESG considerations is valued, with the ability to integrate these into broader market and commercial thinking.
