The Role

A rare opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Market Risk Analyst to join our team.

In this role, your expertise will see you responsible for preparing independent reports and analyses of commodity and foreign exchange positions, their valuations, and associated risks. Your work will inform management and assist traders in making effective decisions within Market Risk Policy limits.

Are you an early bird? This role will require early starts of 6:20am due to the nature of the role, over time this is rotated among team members.

Responsibilities include:

• Analysing and preparing reports on commodity trading positions and their associated risks

• Conducting market risk analysis using probabilistic methods, scenario analysis, and stress testing

• Assisting in preparing position reports, identifying any positions approaching or exceeding policy limits

• Collaborate on preparing position reports and risk models to ensure that the Trading team know their position and the associated risks

• Communicating risk findings to trading team & required stakeholders in a timely and respectful manner

• Supporting the team with daily and project-based tasks to meet deadlines and project goals

About You:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or IT

• Strong understanding of financial risk management theory and practice

• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, macros) and experience with coding (e.g., VBA, Python, PowerBI, SQL)

• Knowledge of commodity and FX markets, including derivative instruments

• Up to 2 years of experience in a related markets role

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members & stakeholders

• A proactive approach to managing competing priorities and deadlines

Desirable attributes include:

• Post-graduate studies in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or IT

• Experience in agricultural markets and financial risk principles

• Experience with Trading or Treasury Management Systems
