About the role

We’re offering a full-time, permanent role for a Mechanical Designer to join our Engineering team within the Project Delivery Group. You’ll work across a broad range of mechanical and materials handling equipment, supporting new expansion projects and upgrades to existing infrastructure.

 

CBH’s grain handling network includes custom-designed conveyor pits, elevators, trippers, and stackers feeding multiple storage types. With a strong pipeline of out-loading projects, including new rail loading facilities to our four ports, this is a great opportunity to contribute to meaningful, large-scale improvements.

 

This role suits a motivated, practical, and adaptable individual seeking a rewarding career with genuine work-life balance. You’ll be responsible for all aspects of mechanical design and drafting as a key member of our team.

 

Working closely within our engineering team, key accountabilities of the role include:  

  • Design work relating to mechanical machinery and materials handling equipment
  • 3D modelling of mechanical equipment in Autodesk Inventor software
  • Develop detailed engineering and fabrication 2D drawings using Inventor or AutoCAD software
  • Management of CBH native drawings and models through the Autodesk Vault software package
  • Implement design innovations that create business value, customer value and continuously aim to enhance design safety standards
  • Ad-hoc travel to remote sites when required for equipment inspections

 

What you will bring to the role:

  • Minimum 2 years’ mechanical design experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated experience using Inventor/AutoCAD software or a trade background (desired)  
  • Knowledge of drawing management and document control practices
