The Role
We are offering a unique opportunity to coordinate, lead, and advise on planning and approvals processes for CBH projects, advocating for positive outcomes for CBH. CBH has a number of large and exciting capital projects underway offering a unique opportunity to work across multiple different projects. Additionally, there is scope for the role to assist with cultural heritage activities.
Success in this role will come from building and maintaining strong relationships with local governments, state departments, regulatory authorities, and internal stakeholders.
This is a permanent, full-time position based at our Perth CBD head office, reporting to the Manager – Government & Industry Relations. Part time or job-share arrangements may be considered for the right candidate.
Responsibilities include:

Ensure timely achievement of all planning and development approvals before commencing work to keep projects on schedule and within budget

Provide specialist and technical advice to internal stakeholders on planning and approvals

Adhere to CBH regulatory approvals frameworks and procedures

Monitor relevant policies, legislation, and industry information, offering advice and recommending actions to the business
About You:

A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or experience in a similar role (property development, planning, building, engineering, or environmental fields)

Experience with Western Australian planning, building and development approvals and other government processes, and proven experience dealing with regulatory authorities on complex or sensitive issues

Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills

The ability to work autonomously, within a larger team environment
Desirable:

Working knowledge of Aboriginal cultural heritage processes, including survey and site recording methodologies, and relevant heritage legislation

Prior experience working with Traditional Owner groups, and Aboriginal Corporations leading cultural heritage activities
