The role

 

The Data Engineer role will take responsibility for the definition, documentation and completion of technical data analysis and delivery of data analytics solutions. As part of our Information Services Team you will be working on a diverse and interesting portfolio or projects supporting the CBH business.  The role will suit a candidate who has recently graduated or who has been working in a similar role for a couple of years and is looking for that next career move.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Design and develop data integrations/pipelines from operational and enterprise systems to both on-prem and cloud-based analytics platforms using appropriate technologies and services
  • Work collaboratively with the Information Services Team as well as internal customers and business units to deliver to agreed timescales
  • Model ingested data and develop reports and dashboard visualisations to meet stakeholder requirements
  • Deliver quality solutions, utilising best practice data integration strategies to ensure processes perform optimally and are sustainable and supportable
  • Design and develop code and solutions to adhere to standards and for future re-use
  • Contribute to a strategy of continuous improvement and delivery excellence
     
    Skills and experience
     
  • Degree in computer science, software/computer engineering, applied math or a related field with 0-3 years’ hand-on experience in a client facing environment
  • Strong development background with experience of creating solutions using the Microsoft Azure products, including: Azure Data Factory, Databricks and DevOps
  • Experience of at least two of the following languages: SQL, T-SQL, Python, DAX, PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with Power BI
  • Experience in current data analytic techniques / tools and supporting technologies
  • Exposure to data modelling in a cloud-based infrastructure
  • A team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written with experience in collaborative problem solving
